1. Initial project meeting This first meeting allows us to become
familiar with the scope of the project, what your vision is, and your
building budget and timeline. We’ll discuss issues such as your present
and future needs, your design style, the remodel process itself,
financial issues and more. Because this first meeting is extremely
important to the preparation of the project estimate, we recommend that
all decision makers and family members who will have a say in the
project be present. |
|
Preparing for this meeting:
- Have as clear an idea of the project as possible.
Cut out pictures from magazines or print online photos.
Think about colors, style, and how you will use the room
once it’s finished.
- Know the present value of your home, how much equity
you have in it, and how much you want to invest in it.
- Be prepared to discuss whether you will pay cash or
use financing.
- Think about how long you plan on staying in your
home.

4. Preliminary Plan Presentation
Our team of designers and Certified
Graduate Remodelers will prepare an initial set of plans for your
remodeling project. These preliminary plans may include as many as two
design options and will show floor plans and elevations (if required). |
 |
5. Plan Choice
Once you have had sufficient time to review the proposed
designs and make a decision, we will discuss any modifications and
additions necessary. We will also nail down a specific scope of work in
this meeting. |
 |
6. Proposal Presentation
A detailed proposal, including costs and
timelines, is prepared based on the plan selected and the modifications
made in the Plan Choice meeting. You and your Montelongo Homes and
Remodeling Design Representative will go over this proposal in detail to
ensure that we have addressed all issues. |

they will perform. |

contractors and our materials suppliers, we will present you with a
final construction agreement that authorizes us to start work on your
